Visit Bucharest

  • Bucharest is the capital of Romania and is the country’s main cultural, industrial and university center, built along Dâmbovița river, about 60km north of the Danube river.
  • Today, in Bucharest, one may experience a mix of historical eras, from neoclassical and Art Nouveau, to the socialist and modern style, spanning over 550 years of history.
  • The House of the People (nowadays known as the Palace of Parliament) was built during the country’s communist regime and it now stands as the second largest building in the world, after the Pentagon.
  • In the beginning of summer, the city of Bucharest is warm, breezy and highly attractive to visit. Since the conference takes place in mid-June, planes and hotels are quite affordable and the city’s main attractions are open for visiting. Traveling in Bucharest is cheap, fast and easy when using either public transport such as Metro underground and STB overground bus, trolley & tram services, or ride sharing.
